French Toast

Ingredients for French Toast:
Bread slices 2-4
Milk 1 cup
Eggs 2
Caster sugar 2 tbsp
Vanilla essence 1/4 tsp
Oil as required

French Toast by Zarnak Sidhwa

Crepes


Ingredients for Crepes:
Flour 8 oz
Eggs 3
Milk 8 fl oz
Water 8 fl oz
Oil 2 fl oz
Fruit syrup as required

Method:

Mix flour, eggs and milk and whisk.
Add oil and water.
Make a smooth batter for thin crepes.
Let stand for a while.
Heat a crepe pan, brush with oil or butter.
Cook a ladle-full of crepe batter, for a minute on each side.
Layer on a plate with grease proof paper in between so they don’t stick.
Serve with fruit or pancake syrup.

English Breakfast

Ingredients for English Breakfast:
Eggs 2
Chicken sausages 2
Tomato 1
Oil 1/2 cup
Baked beans as required
Mushrooms. sliced 4-5
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
HP sauce to serve
Toasted bread slices to serve

Breakfast Casserole


Ingredients for Breakfast Casserole:
Mutton mince ½ kg
Butter 2 tsp
Chopped green onions 2
Mushrooms (sliced) 1 cup
Eggs (beaten) 6
Cottage cheese 1 cup
Cheese (shredded) 11 ounces
Chopped green chillies 3-4
Flour 2/3 cup
Baking powder 3/4 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Butter (melted) 3 tbsp
Butter (melted) 1-3/4 tsp

Method:
Cook mutton mince until evenly brown. 
Drain, and set aside. 
Melt butter in pan, and cook and stir the green onions and mushrooms until tender.
In a bowl, mix the eggs, cottage cheese, cheese, and chillies. 
Stir in the mince, green onions, and mushrooms.
In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 
Blend in the melted butter. 
Stir the flour mixture into the egg mixture. 
Pour into the greased baking dish. 
Bake 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly brown. 
Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Breakfast Shake


Ingredients For Breakfast Shake:
Banana 1
Cold milk 1 cup
Oats 2 tbsp
Honey 1 tbsp
Ice cubes  2

Method:
Blend all the ingredients in blender.
Serve it in glass.

Cinnamon French Toast



Ingredients for Cinnamon French Toast:
Eggs 4
Milk 2/3 cup
cinnamon 2 tsp or vanilla essence (if you don't like cinnamon)
Bread 8 slices
Butter/oil to fry
Maple syrup, butter or fruit, to serve

Method:
Beat eggs, milk, and cinnamon together. 
Whisk until well blended. 
Pour into a shallow bowl. 
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing bread to soak up some of the mixture. 
Melt some butter or oil in a pan and add bread. 
Fry until brown on both sides. 
Serve hot with butter, maple syrup, and fruit.

Egg in a Nest


Ingredients:
2 slices of bread
2 eggs
Salt
Pepper
Oil to fry

Method:
Cut out rounds of 2 slices of bread using a cookie cutter.
Heat oil and add in the bread to fry and break an egg in the middle, sprinkle salt and pepper.
Let egg fry and serve immediately.

Pepperoni Omelet

Ingredients:
2 eggs
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cheddar cheese, grated
3-4 pepperoni slices, chopped

Method
Beat 2 eggs together in a mixing bowl and season, to taste, with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Heat 1 tbsp butter in a frying pan until foaming. 
Pour in the beaten eggs and cook for a few seconds, until the bottom of the omelette is lightly set.
Place 2 tbsp grated cheddar cheese and 3-4 sliced pepperoni into the centre of the omelette and cook until the cheese has melted.
Fold the omelette in half, then remove the pan from the heat and tilt it slightly to move the omelette to the edge of the pan. 
Slide the omelette onto a serving plate and then shape it into a neat roll.

Waffles

Ingredients:
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup milk
½ cup water
½ tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
1 ½ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cornflour
4 tbsp melted butter
Honey or maple syrup, to serve

Method:
• Beat 3 egg yolks and 2 tbsp sugar together
• Add ¼ cup milk, ½ cup water and ½ tsp vanilla essence.
• Also add in pinch of salt,1 ½ cups flour, 2 tbsp cornflour and 1 tsp baking powder, slowly add 4 tbsp melted butter and beat till smooth.
• Beat egg whites till stiff, slowly fold in the batter. Let stand for a while and then heat up the waffle iron.
• When hot, pour a large tablespoon of batter in the iron and close and let cook.

Serve immediately with honey or maple syrup.

Note: A waffle iron is needed for making waffles. They can't be made in any other appliance.

Pancakes

Ingredients:
4 oz flour
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 cup milk
Honey or maple syrup, to serve

Method:
• For the pancakes, mix 4 oz flour, 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, 1 cup milk and whisk to remove
lumps and when a smooth batter is formed, cover and let stand for 30 minutes.
• Heat pan, brush with little oil, add 3 large tablespoons and fry each pancake on both sides for just a minute.
• Stack pancakes on top of each other with greaseproof paper in between. Serve with maple syrup or honey.
